Rolf Harris: Burger King

Just saw an advert for Burger King, the sound was off so I am not sure what was going on, I may have hallucinated it, but there was this King, with a big plastic face, and it was Rolf Harris’s face. It was, I swear.

Battery hens

I was trying to find information today to help Neil at Hencam, because he’s had to rescue an escaped battery hen. Poor thing is in a bit of a state and he’s not sure what to do.

When trying to look for information on how to help the new hen, I found The Battery Hen Welfare Trust website, and it was interesting reading.
I eat only free range organic eggs, because I am totally against battery farming.
Stupidly, until reading this site I never realised that there are battery farmed eggs in other products you buy. The most obvious one would be mayonnaise.
Hellmann’s mayonnaise is made with battery farmed eggs.
I only bought a new jar of it today! It’s going back to the shop.

I phoned Hellmann’s freephone number to tell them I won’t be buying any more of their products. I was very polite, I can only hope they actually do listen to customer feedback, as they claim they do.

I would urge everyone to do this.
In the meantime, I’m going to learn how to make my own mayonnaise! I may even blog the curdled disasters that are likely to result…
